Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 vs Motorola Razr+ 2025: Design
If not for the color differences, these two devices will be quite difficult to tell apart. Design-wise, they look very similar. You’re getting a flat foldable display on both phones, with a centered display camera hole up top. The corners are rounded on both devices, and to the same degree. The bezels around the main display are thin and uniform. Even the buttons are in the same spot, albeit the Razr+ 2025 has one less button.
Both devices include a power/lock and volume rocker keys on the right-hand side. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 also has an AI key on the left side, which is actually customizable. The cover display on both devices seems to be equal in terms of size, but it’s 0.1 inches larger on the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026. Both devices have two horizontally-aligned cameras inside that display, in the top-left corner. An LED flash sits right next to those cameras.
The backplate on both devices is flat, though it does round up slightly towards the edges. Different colors come with different finishes. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 comes in two color options, while the Razr+ 2025 comes in three color variants. The newer model is 10 grams heavier, while the dimensions of the two devices are almost completely identical. Both devices are also IP48 certified for water and dust resistance.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 vs Motorola Razr+ 2025: Display
The main display on the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 measures 7 inches, and it’s a Foldable LTPO AMOLED panel. It is flat and foldable, and it can project up to 1 billion colors. The resolution is 2992 x 1224 pixels. The refresh rate here goes up to 165Hz, while Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content are supported. The peak brightness here is 5,000 nits. The cover display, on the other hand, measures 4 inches, and it’s a flat LTPO AMOLED panel. It can also project up to 1 billion colors, and it supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Its refresh rate goes up to 165Hz, and the peak brightness is 3,000 nits. The resolution here is 1272 x 1080 pixels, and the display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Ceramic.

The Motorola Razr+ 2025, on the other hand, has a 6.9-inch Foldable LTPO AMOLED main display, which is flat and foldable. It can project up to 1 billion colors, and it does support Dolby Vision and HDR10+. This display has a resolution of 2640 x 1080, and its refresh rate goes up to 165Hz. The peak brightness is 3,000 nits. The cover display is flat, and it measures 6.9 inches. It’s an LTPO AMOLED panel, and it supports 1 billion colors. Dolby Vision is supported, as is HDR10+ content. The resolution here is 1272 x 1080, and the refresh rate goes up to 165Hz. The peak brightness this display offers is 2,400 nits, and the Gorilla Glass Victus protects it.
All four of these panels are very good. All of them are more than sharp enough and are also quite vivid. The brightness is high enough on all of them, though the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026’s displays are better in that regard. The touch response is also good, so no complaints there, and the same goes for refresh rates. There’s not much to complain about here.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 vs Motorola Razr+ 2025: Performance
The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. That is a 3nm chip from Qualcomm, and it was the company’s flagship chip for last year. It is still an outstanding chip, and it’s paired with 16GB of RAM here and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The storage is not expandable, by the way.
The Motorola Razr+ 2025, on the other hand, is fueled by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm. That is a 4nm processor from the company, and it’s inferior to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This phone also includes 12GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, but the storage is not expandable.
Last year’s ‘Plus’ Razr still offers really good performance; there’s really nothing to complain about. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 is still under testing, as our review is coming soon, but the performance looks very promising, which is to be expected. We can already say that the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 does offer better performance across the board, but the Motorola Razr+ 2025 can keep up.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 vs Motorola Razr+ 2025: Battery
The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 includes a 5,000mAh battery on the inside. The Motorola Razr+ 2025, on the flip side, has a 4,000mAh battery. That is quite a notable difference, a 20% difference in battery capacity. You’ll be able to read more about the battery performance of the Razr Ultra 2026 in our upcoming review, but yes, it does offer better battery life than the Motorola Razr+ 2025.
Your battery life experience will very, though, as it always depends on how much you end up using the main display, in addition how to use your device. The more you use the cover display, the better the battery life will be. That goes for both smartphones, of course. Overall, though, the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 does have better battery life, which is not surprising at all. That battery capacity is not half bad for a flip phone foldable.
The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 also comes with faster charging. It supports 68W wired, 30W wireless, and 5W reverse wired charging. The Motorola Razr+ 2025, on the flip side, supports 45W wired, 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wired charging. The newer model does charge faster, but you’ll have to wait for our review in order to find out how much faster. Do note that neither phone comes with a charger in the box.
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 vs Motorola Razr+ 2025: Cameras
What about the cameras? Well, they both have two 50-megapixel cameras on the back, but the hardware is different. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 includes a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 1/1.56-inch sensor size. This is a LOFIC sensor, by the way. The second camera is a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit with an f/2.0 aperture and a 1/2.93-inch sensor size.

The Motorola Razr+ 2025, on the flip side, has a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 1/1.95-inch sensor size. The second camera on the back of this phone is a 50-megapixel telephoto snapper with an f/2.0 aperture and a 1/2.76-inch sensor size. This is a 2x telephoto camera, by the way.
The main camera on the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 definitely does a better job, which is not surprising considering it’s not only a larger sensor but a LOFIC sensor at that. The secondary cameras are vastly different, and we’d argue that there’s not much use for a 2x telephoto camera, but that a telephoto camera is a better option on phones for a secondary camera. Both secondary cameras are fine, but they’re nothing to write home about. You’ll soon be able to see how much better the main camera on the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 is; the review is coming.
Audio
What about audio? Well, there are stereo speakers on both devices, and they’re very similar in terms of performance. They’re both loud enough, and the audio quality is quite good.
There is no audio jack here, though, on either phone. You can connect your wired headphones to the Type-C ports that are available on these phones, though. Alternatively, Bluetooth 5.4 is available on both devices.
