When Trump Mobile announced the T1 phone, we were skeptical, but we also gave them the benefit of the doubt. To launch a new carrier and a new self-branded phone at the same time? It probably can’t be that easy. But now, a recent change on the website suggests that the Trump T1 Phone may never come.
Trump T1 Phone might not come, according to change on website
In a recent update to the Trump Mobile website, the terms and conditions now say that pre-orders are “a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile later elects, in its sole discretion, to offer the Device for sale.” You don’t need to be a lawyer to know that this is basically saying that the company may or may not release the device, and that a pre-order doesn’t guarantee anything.
There’s another section that’s also just as worrying. It says, “A binding sales contract is formed only if all of the following occur: (1) Trump Mobile makes the Device available for sale; (2) you complete checkout; (3) you submit full payment; and (4) Trump Mobile accepts and successfully processes payment. Until those conditions are satisfied, no enforceable agreement for purchase exists.”
This sounds like Trump Mobile is trying to wiggle out of any liability or obligations to customers. They’re trying to say that it’s only considered a “binding sale” if it meets certain conditions. Now, why would they say that if they intended to sell the phone from the get-go? All these changes feel like Trump Mobile is trying to hint that the device may never arrive.
This isn’t the first delay
That being said, we can’t say we’re shocked at these changes. This is because it isn’t the first time Trump Mobile has made a change to the release of the Trump T1 Phone. When the phone was first revealed, it looked like someone took the Chinese-made REVVL 7 Pro 5G and painted it in gold and slapped the Trump Mobile branding on it.
However, the company later said it would change the design of the Trump T1 Phone. This resulted in a larger display and slightly better specs. Trump Mobile executive Don Hendrickson even showed off the alleged new design, hinting that it’s close to launch. We’re not sure what’s up with the numerous delays. But for now, if you were hoping to get your hands on it, don’t hold your breath.
