More dummy units of the upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra have surfaced, this time YouTuber ZoneofTech has posted them on X, comparing them to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The iPhone Ultra does seem to be very short, which we already knew from the dimensions that have leaked over the last few months. But seeing it side by side with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 really puts it in perspective.
A big reason why Apple is going with such a short and wide front display on its foldable is so that when you open the foldable, you’re greeted with a tablet experience. Versus having a square display like virtually every other foldable. Now, Google and OPPO both did these wider foldable styles in the past, and ditched them for whatever reason. But those were not as wide as what Apple is reportedly going to release.
The dummy also shows that the iPhone Ultra will likely be thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Though recent rumors have pointed to it also having a much larger battery than what Samsung has in its fold.
iPhone Ultra is set to be unveiled in September
Apple is set to unveil its first foldable smartphone in September, alongside the other iPhones. This year it’s going to be a bit different than usual. As Apple is only releasing the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Ultra. With the vanilla iPhone 18 coming in the Spring.
The iPhone Ultra has been rumored to start at around $2,500, though recently, we’ve heard more rumors that Apple was able to get the price down, closer to $2,000. Which would allow it to compete better with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Though, we are expecting Samsung to raise the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 when it launches in July.
