If you’re thinking about buying a smart ring, you might have to wait until next year to grab the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2. But if you’d rather not wait, the RingConn Gen 3 has just launched on pre-order, and it could be worth checking out if you’re looking for smart ring alternatives without subscription.
RingConn Gen 3, a new smart ring without subscription now up for pre-order
The RingConn Gen 3 smart ring actually made its debut earlier this year at CES. For those who missed the announcement, the Gen 3 model is the latest wearable in RingConn’s lineup, succeeding the RingConn Gen 2.
One of the biggest changes over Gen 2 is the vibration module. The Gen 2 relied on your connected smartphone for feedback. However, the Gen 3 comes with a built-in vibration module that will provide users with real-time health alerts from the ring itself.
We’re not sure why it wasn’t included in the previous model. After all, it feels like such an obvious feature, especially for a device that lacks a display like a smartwatch. However, better late than never. For the most part, the Gen 3 model isn’t too different from its predecessor.
You can use it to track your health stats and get alerts from your phone. It does, however, pack an upgraded battery that will allow it to last longer. If the Gen 2’s battery was one of the reasons you passed on it, maybe the Gen 3 could make up for it. Lastly, RingConn is expected to eventually add support for blood pressure monitoring in a future software update. But do take note that this won’t replace actual medical devices, but it will be a quicker and more convenient way for you to keep track.
Pricing & availability
If you’re keen on picking up the RingConn Gen 3, it is priced starting at $349. However, we have some good news. RingConn is offering a pre-order bonus that brings the price down to $314. The premium color options are also going for $332, slightly cheaper than the original price of $369. Note that the pre-order discount is only good until May 28, 2026.
The smart ring is also available in sizes 6 to 15. You can grab a sizing kit off its website if you’d like to measure for yourself.
