If you’re a T-Mobile customer hoping to snag the new flip phone right out of the gate, you’re going to have to wait, unless you want to buy it unlocked. Motorola confirmed the base Razr 2026 will hit T-Mobile in the coming months — meaning later than the May 21 launch date for Verizon, Boost Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Visible, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, and Cox Mobile. Cricket Wireless is also waiting in the wings.
The good news? You can still get one earlier if you don’t want to wait. The unlocked Motorola Razr 2026 goes on sale May 21 through Motorola.com, Amazon, and Best Buy at $799.99, and it’ll work just fine on T-Mobile’s network. Pop in your SIM (or activate the eSIM), and you’re good to go. Motorola also includes trade-ins and different deals.
Either wait, or buy unlocked
The Razr 2026 sits at the entry point of Motorola’s new lineup, below the Razr Plus 2026 and Razr Ultra 2026. It packs upgraded cameras, a larger battery than last year’s model, and a faster chipset, all wrapped up in that signature Razr clamshell design. You also get IP-rated water resistance, wireless charging, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the cover display.
This year, Motorola is leaning hard into AI features. The Razr 2026 introduces a new “rotate to zoom” gesture for camcorder mode, an AI shutter that grabs the best frame for group shots, Ultra HDR support inside Instagram, and a new “Google Photos Wardrobe” feature. There’s also Motorola’s Daily Drops feed, which now pulls in Google Photos memories alongside news, weather, and your calendar. This is very similar to Samsung’s NowBrief.
The Razr 2026 colors are quite impressive this year. We’re looking at four colors this year, these include PANTONE Hematite, PANTONE Violet Ice, PANTONE Sporting Green, and PANTONE Bright White.
When the Motorola Razr 2026 officially releases on T-Mobile, expect Magenta to roll out the usual Go5G plan deals, trade-in promos, and bill credits. Honestly? Those promos are usually worth the wait. If you can hold off a few months, you’ll likely end up paying way less than the $799.99 sticker price.
