SteelSeries has officially announced the launch of the Arctis Nova Pro Omni, a gaming headset that, by all accounts looks like the same headset as its first Arctis Nova Pro Wireless model. The company also more recently launched the Arctis Nova Pro Elite, designed as a more premium wireless gaming headset option with a few luxury tweaks.
The Arctis Nova Pro Omni may not look it, but it actually does something that none of the other Arctis Nova Pro models do. And it all comes down to the new OmniPlay feature. The headset combines the compatibility of PC, Xbox, and PlayStation into a single unit, but this is really what’s different.
With the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, for example, SteelSeries offers a PlayStation model and Xbox Model. Both models will work with PC, but only the Xbox model works with Xbox. Interestingly, it also works with PlayStation, technically making it the best option for those that game on all three platforms. The Omni also works with all three in one model, just like the “Xbox model” of the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. It’s the OmniPlay feature, however, that makes this headset a standout option, specifically for those who like to multitask.
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni will launch with OmniPlay for $399
Given the previous price tag of the Arctis Nova Pro Elite, as well as the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless when it launched, it shouldn’t be surprising that SteelSeries is charging a high price for this new gaming headset. Retailing at $399.99, it’s certainly on the high end. That being said, it has a few tricks up its sleeve, and OmniPlay is the standout feature of them. This lets you combine up to four audio sources and play them at the same time. So, if you wanted to, you could have the game audio playing through your PS5, stream audio playing from your PC, and chat audio with your friends playing from a phone app, all simultaneously.
The average gamer isn’t likely to need all that, but it’s a powerful feature to have in the back pocket if you like playing audio from more than two sources while you game. Two is the limit with the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless.
The Arctis Nova Pro Omni also comes with all the favorite features of the past models. Including the base station that charges a second battery while one is being used in the headset. Additionally, it uses 40mm Hi-Res Neodymium Magnetic drivers with support for Hi-Res sound. And of course, it supports Active Noise Cancellation. The Arctis Nova Pro Omni launches today at $399.99 in White, Graphite, and Midnight Blue. You can pick it up from Amazon in all three colors, or directly from SteelSeries.
