The way people access news continues to change and Samsung would see itself ahead of the curve, which is why it plans to add short-form video content to its Samsung News app with the latest update. Once upon a time, if you wanted the latest news, you popped over to the corner store and picked up the paper, or had it delivered, or you got caught up with local and national broadcasts on TV. In the digital age, however, news quickly shifted to being available just about everywhere online.
Even this method of access changed. From established publishers and digital versions of national newspapers, to specialized blogs and websites, to mediums like YouTube and other similar video platforms such as TikTok. Short-form video has become a common way that users online now get their news. Regardless of where it comes from. Samsung is making it easier to access this type of content.
Samsung News expands content to include short-form video
If short-form video is how you prefer to access your news or if it’s at least one way you like to access it, the Samsung News app will start to showcase a short-form video carousel where you can find content easily. What’s more is that Samsung says clips will be curated on a daily basis. The carousel will offer users a “tailored selection of must-watch clips.” Users will also be able to explore videos across several categories, including sports, finance, news, and lifestyle & entertainment.
In addition to the short-form video content being added, Samsung has also announced partnerships for this content. Starting with a number of premium publishers. This includes Food and Wine, EatingWell, People, ABC News, Travel + Leisure, and USA Today just to name a few. Samsung News is available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets via the Galaxy Store. Samsung also confirms that this update should already be live for users. Meaning, you should be able to access the content starting today.
