Xiaomi appears to be gearing up for the launch of the Xiaomi 17T series smartphones. Previous rumors suggest that both the smartphones from the lineup, the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, are due to launch sometime this month. While the exact launch date is unclear for now, the specs and pricing of both devices leaked late last month. Around the same time, the Xiaomi 17T’s live image also got leaked. Now, a German news outlet has leaked the official images of the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro, revealing its design ahead of the launch.
Fresh leak reveals the design of Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro in three new colors
The news comes via WinFuture, which has leaked official images of both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro. While both devices look identical design-wise, the difference lies in their sizes. Additionally, the report also mentions a “minimal” change in their rear camera setup.
For starters, the Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 2756×1268 pixels resolution. Meanwhile, the “Pro” variant flaunts a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772×1280 pixels. Based on previous leaks, it seems the Xiaomi 17T Pro could get a screen refresh rate of 144Hz. Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi 17T’s screen refresh rate could be capped at 120Hz.
Do note that the design revealed in the images suggests that Xiaomi is going with flat displays. The standard Xiaomi 17T will feature a plastic build, whereas the Xiaomi 17T Pro would come with a metal frame. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T will reportedly pack the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC. Meanwhile, the “Pro” model appears to be getting the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. Notably, both chipsets come with eight CPU cores, so expect both devices to handle performance quite well.
Previous leaks have hinted that the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro will feature three 50MP cameras (primary, telephoto, and ultrawide). Both the smartphones will reportedly also include a 32MP camera at the front for selfies and video calling needs. As with most Chinese OEMs, Xiaomi is also going big on batteries this time around. The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro will reportedly pack a 6,500mAh and 7,00mAh batteries, respectively. That’s not all, the Xiaomi 17T is rumored to get 67W fast wired charging support. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro could come with 100W fast wired charging support. That said, the “Pro” model is only likely to get 50W of wireless charging support.
Xiaomi likely to launch the “Pro” model in only one variant
The Xiaomi 17T will reportedly be available in at least two variant model, featuring 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. As for the pricing, the Xiaomi 17T’s 12GB/256GB model could carry a price tag of €749 (~$877). The 512GB storage model with same RAM might cost somewhere between €799 and €849 (~$936 and ~$994). Meanwhile, the “Pro” model will likely feature the same RAM but will get a bumped-up 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, reportedly costing €999 (~$1,170). As seen in the images, both smartphones will be available in three color options. From the looks of it, the Xiaomi 17T features lighter shades of black, purple, and blue, while the “Pro” features darker tones of the same.
