Polestar was never going to be one of those struggling, anonymous EV startups when it burst onto the scene. Instead, it arrived with plenty of momentum, Volvo’s credibility in the background, a ready-made performance name, and Geely’s industrial scale to lean on. Its headstart should have been unusually strong, and Polestar also presented a design language that looked clean enough to help it stand apart from Tesla’s minimalism.
