After the success of the Orange iPhone 17 Pro this past year, which is evident by how many companies are copying this color – HONOR, TECNO, OPPO, etc. Apple is apparently going to launch a deep red color for the iPhone 18 Pro this fall.
Bloomberg had already reported back in February that this might be coming, and even described it as a crimson color. Now, we’re hearing from Digital Chat Station, a pretty prominent leaker out of China, that “The iPhone 18 Pro has a high probability of being crimson, because I saw the next flagship of the Android camp proving this color.”
A bit of an odd way to say that the iPhone 18 Pro would come in red later this year. But it does make loads of sense.
Android OEMs have been copying the Orange iPhone 17 Pro left and right
Since last fall, seeing how popular the orange has been for Apple, many OEMs have been copying this color, most recently the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and the HONOR 600 series. Though the HONOR 600 did also essentially steal the entire design from the iPhone 17 Pro.
So, to essentially confirm that Apple is using this dark red, crimson color for the iPhone 18 Pro, based on an Android OEM also testing it out, does sound about right. Unfortunately, some brands will always copy what Apple does. This is because they are the most successful smartphone brand in the history of smartphones.
On the flip side, it’s great to see some color coming into these high-end devices. Typically, the ‘Pro’ or ‘Ultra’ models stick to pretty boring colors like black, gray, dark blue, or white. So having a bright orange iPhone 17 Pro was definitely a huge change, and buyers showed Apple that it was a change they liked.
