Samsung Electronics is relocating within Cedar Rapids and expanding its research and development operations.
“We are thrilled to see Samsung Electronics stay rooted in City of Cedar Rapids and continue to grow here,” said Juliet Abdel, CCE, IOM, president and CEO of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. “This expansion is a direct reflection of our focused strategy to build a thriving tech cluster in the Cedar Rapids region that has attracted more than $10 billion in historic state investment in recent years.”
The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, in partnership with the City of Cedar Rapids, assisted in facilitating the expansion. The collaboration reflects a broader regional strategy to retain and grow established employers while driving job creation in the technology sector.
The South Korean tech giant’s new facility will be situated in the Kingston Yard district, a 7.7-acre, mixed-use entertainment district in downtown Cedar Rapids. In 2025, Ryan Companies moved into a new downtown office space at Kingston Yard into a 6,573-square-foot space.
