Last week, Netflix increased the prices of its plans, with the standard plan with ads now costing $8.99 per month. The highest plan now comes at $26.99, a jump from $24.99. While that’s already disappointing news, it’s also affecting Verizon myPlan customers, as the Netflix and HBO Max (with ads) perk is seeing a price hike.
Verizon’s myPlan perk price increases after Netflix hike
Verizon offers a range of perks. Among those is a perk that offers a discount on a Netflix and HBO Max (with ads) streaming bundle. Right now, this perk saves you $8.98 on your monthly bill, bringing the cost down to $10. But this is going to change soon. There’s an update on Verizon’s support page that says the price of the Netflix and HBO Max (with ads) perk will see a change.
Starting from May 6th, 2026, the price of the perk will increase from $10 a month to $13 per month. This effectively brings your monthly savings down to $6.98 from $8.98 per month. It also seems that Verizon is already notifying its customers about the price hike.

The carrier is already notifying its customers
Verizon customers are also sharing about the price change on Reddit. The update from the carrier reportedly reads, “At Verizon, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best entertainment for the best price. As our partners at Netflix and HBO Max invest in new content and adjust the rates of their services, we periodically need to adjust our perk rates.”
Current subscribers with the $10 “Mobile + Home” discount will see the price rise to $13. However, those who are using a promotion or trial won’t see a price increase until after the period ends. It seems Verizon customers are not very happy with the price change, which isn’t surprising. Some of them have reportedly even canceled their perk.
