Amid rumors of the global shutdown, OnePlus India has announced that its devices can now be officially repaired at OPPO service centers. The expansion of the after-sales service through OPPO will increase its supported regional network by huge numbers. While presented as a customer-focused move, the timing has raised questions about whether bigger structural changes may be underway behind the scenes.
Indian buyers of OnePlus can now get their devices repaired in the OPPO service centers as well
The announcement confirms that OnePlus India users will soon be able to access OPPO’s established service center network. The move increases the service availability by 50% starting in April 2026. As of now, the company has about 400 designated service centers in the country. With this move, the numbers go up to 600+.
OnePlus says the expansion of the service network is a major step toward improving convenience and delivering a more premium after-sales experience. Customers will benefit from a wider footprint, faster support, and access to an already mature service infrastructure operated by OPPO.
Further, OnePlus emphasized that all existing commitments will remain intact. This includes warranties, regular software updates, and ongoing customer support assurances. The company’s messaging aims to reassure users that, despite operational adjustments, their ownership experience will not be disrupted.
A bigger operational and management change may be underway
The development comes amid rumors about the future of OnePlus in global and select regional markets. Earlier reports suggested a possible shutdown or scaling back of operations. However, these claims were publicly denied by company leadership at the time. More recently, leadership changes, including the departure of its India CEO, have added to the uncertainty surrounding the brand’s direction.
Industry insiders have also hinted that OnePlus may reduce its focus to budget and mid-range devices in markets like India. Some reports even suggest a broader restructuring could happen soon. While none of these claims have been officially confirmed, the overlap of events has fueled speculation that OPPO could gradually take on a larger operational role.
