Chevrolet is bringing back the Grand Sport, a very well-known name in Corvette history, with the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and also introducing a brand new performance model with electric power called the Grand Sport X. Both of these are built to give you what the Grand Sport has always been about – a strong V8, ability on the racetrack, and being nice to drive every day – but now with the engine in the middle of the car.

The Grand Sport name goes all the way back to the early and lightweight Corvette race cars at places like Sebring. Throughout the years, the Grand Sport has typically taken the best performance parts from the faster Corvette versions and put them in a car that’s easier to live with, making it a really well-rounded choice in the range.
A new 6.7-liter LS6 V8 engine, producing 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, powers the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport. This new LS6 will also be the main engine in the 2027 Corvette Stingray, representing the next version of Chevrolet’s small-block V8.

The larger engine has a 13.0:1 compression ratio, a better intake and throttle body, and stronger internal parts to withstand a lot of stress during fast driving. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Chevrolet says the Grand Sport is made for people who truly love driving, giving you a naturally aspirated V8 with rear-wheel drive and a chassis that blends performance and comfort for normal driving.

You get Magnetic Ride Control and a touring suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires as standard on the Grand Sport, so it’s comfortable for long journeys. Those wanting even more performance can go for the Z52 Sport Performance Package – this gives you a firmer suspension, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and the upgraded brakes from the Corvette Z06.
If you’re going to be doing a lot of serious track days, the Z52 Track Performance Package brings in carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and more aerodynamic improvements, making this the most capable Grand Sport ever on a circuit.
The new Corvette Grand Sport X adds an electrified all-wheel drive system, pairing the LS6 V8 with an electric motor and battery pack at the front. Together they produce 721 horsepower and the all-wheel drive gives you better grip for faster acceleration and in all kinds of conditions.

The electric motor at the front can even drive the car by itself at low speeds, giving you a quiet electric mode when you want it. When you are on the track, the driver can choose from different ways of using the power, including endurance, qualifying and a “push-to-pass” mode.
The 2027 Grand Sport models have design touches that look back at the past, including the famous Grand Sport stripes and classic colors like Admiral Blue Metallic. New wheels will include forged aluminum and carbon-fiber options, and there will be lots of stripe and color choices for you to make the car your own.
Inside, the Launch Edition will have a Santorini Blue interior with red details and special Grand Sport badges.
The 2027 Corvette Stingray is also getting some improvements, including the new LS6 V8, adjustments to Magnetic Ride Control and performance upgrades for the Z51 Performance Package.
With the Grand Sport returning and the addition of the electric Grand Sport X, Chevrolet is extending the Corvette range with models that fall between the Stingray and the most extreme versions, offering a mix of performance, a link to the past and practicality for every day.
