Samsung recently announced that it is finally bringing the direct-to-satellite connectivity feature for select Galaxy devices, and now, it has shared a list of compatible apps. The connectivity will allow compatible devices to stay connected to the internet without traditional cellular coverage. The satellite-ready apps ensure key services like messaging, navigation, and account access remain available even when users move into remote or network-limited areas.
Here is a complete list of satellite connectivity-supported apps for Samsung Galaxy devices
As reported by the tipster @theonecid, Samsung has quietly added a section on supported Galaxy devices that shows which apps work with satellite connectivity. The menu appears under Settings, then Connections, and finally Satellite. If a device supports the feature, users can view the list of compatible apps directly from this section. Phones without support simply will not show the Satellite option in the Connections menu.
The list currently includes several popular apps, including Find My Mobile, Google Maps, Google Play Services, Grok, Facebook Messenger, Messages, Samsung Account, Samsung Find, Samsung Health, Weather, WhatsApp, and X. What’s interesting is that the selection expands beyond basic apps. While Samsung appears to be prioritizing apps that help users stay connected or access important information, it has also included social media apps for added convenience.
The connectivity support will vary as per the region and the device model
Samsung is enabling satellite connectivity features through partnerships with mobile network operators. Unlike Apple, it does not connect directly to the satellite companies. Further, the availability of satellite services will depend on the region.
In some countries, users may access calling, messaging, and limited data through supported apps. In other markets, the feature may only support texting or emergency communication. Compatible devices also differ by region, though Galaxy S22 and newer models generally support the system. In select markets, certain Galaxy A series phones may support the satellite connectivity feature, depending on carrier support.
