Apple is preparing to launch its first foldable later this year, likely after the typical iPhone launch. And rumors are flying hot and heavy right now, about this new form factor. Today, we’re hearing that Apple is looking to target $2,000 as the base price for the iPhone Fold.
While that does still sound quite pricey, that would put it at the same price point as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. And a few hundred more than the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, we don’t yet have pricing on the Motorola Razr Fold, but it’ll likely be below $2,000 as well.
Previous rumors had pointed to Apple launching with a $2,300 retail price for the iPhone Fold, which would make it far more expensive than what Samsung has, though it’s possible that Samsung could raise prices again this year with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 around July-August.
It’s important that we stress to take this info with a grain of salt right now, because pricing is always up in the air until it is announced on stage. Things could change between now and the announcement in September. Especially with the way that RAM and flash storage prices are fluctuating.
Apple is preparing a lineup of ‘Ultra’ products
Apple launched the Watch Ultra a few years ago, but since then, we haven’t had any other products with the ‘Ultra’ name in tow. But that is about to change, according to Bloomberg. Mark Gurman recently reported that there is a list of new ‘Ultra’ products coming, including a new MacBook Ultra.
This could be a reason for Apple to push the price of the iPhone Fold above that $2,000 price point since the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB of storage is already around that price. And Apple would want to price an ‘Ultra’ model accordingly, to justify that moniker.
