M&T Bank hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of a new full-service branch at 2976 Third Ave. in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx. The event included remarks from local leaders including Congressman Ritchie Torres and executives from M&T Bank and nonprofits Citizens Committee for NYC and Ariva.
2976 Third Ave. is located near the 2 and 5 trains in a central hub for Bronx retail. M&T joins a variety of national brands and mom-and-pop businesses operating in the area. The bank signed a 20-year lease for the 2,484-square-foot space, one of 20 it maintains across the five boroughs.
“This new branch represents more than just a physical location. It is about access, opportunity, and partnership,” said Blair Ridder, M&T Bank’s regional president in New York City. ”We are excited to bring convenient, relationship-driven banking to the Bronx and we look forward to supporting local families, small businesses, and community organizations for years to come.”
