Earlier this month, Google released the first Android 17 beta program for a handful of devices. We were expecting third-party phone makers to launch their similar programs soon after, as has typically been the case in the past. While many major brands are yet to announce anything, Motorola has just kicked off its Android 17 beta program. Initially, only a few Motorola devices are eligible for this program.
Motorola kicks off its Android 17 beta program
Motorola has just become the first non-Google company to release its Android 17 beta program. The brand has released the update for the Motorola Edge (2025) handset in the US. If you have a Moto G57 and live in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa, you can enter the beta program.
Those living in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa having a Moto G57 Power are also receiving the same treatment. Finally, the Moto G57 Power is also getting the Android 17 beta program in India. Essentially, at the moment, only two major Motorola phones are eligible for the Android 17 beta program.
Here’s how to sign up for the beta program
If you want to experience features of Android 17 ahead of the official rollout, then this is how you do it. First, make an account on Motorola’s community website. Then, go to the profile page and update your phone’s IMEI or serial number (SN) details. Now choose MFN on your Motorola community profile. It’s worth noting that you should make sure your phone is running the latest software before proceeding.
Now, go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunity page to check a testing opportunity for your handset. Then, hit the registration link for your Motorola device. Finally, fill in the required details and submit your application. Once a slot opens, Motorola will notify you to install the Android 17 beta update.
After the aforementioned devices, Motorola will release the Android 17 beta program for more devices in the coming days, so stay tuned.
