Every time I walk into the Apple store and pick up the iPhone Air, I’m honestly amazed at how light and slim it is. But then I look at the specs and the price and I’m reminded at how incredibly expensive the iPhone Air is considering the subpar specs that you’re getting. But hey, to each their own, right? To that end, Dubai-based custom device maker Caviar has announced an iPhone Air that features 24K gold. And its price? A whopping $11,000.
Meet the $11,000 24K iPhone Air
According to Caviar, they claim the design of the 24K gold iPhone Air was inspired by Art Nouveau and the decorative art of Alphonse Mucha. It features a back panel made with premium calfskin in a neutral tone. There are also mother-of-pearl inlays and 24K gold decorative elements. There are also bits of fine engraving and hand-finished detailing.

The company says that each device is assembled by hand. This is to ensure precision and individuality in every detail. Last but not least, aside from the premium materials, the reason this model is so expensive is because there is only one available in the entire world. Does that make it worth $11,000? Hardly, but you know what, there’s probably someone out there who would say otherwise.
What else can we expect?
Aside from the gold and pearl decorative elements, the iPhone Air model remains the same internally. This means that you get the same 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is also powered by the A19 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and a singular 48MP camera. It will also pack the same 3,149mAh battery, which has been one of the phone’s main points of criticism.

However, if you do decide to drop $11,000 for Caviar’s iPhone Air, note that it is the 1TB model. But even factoring that in, $11,000 is a ridiculous amount to spend. This isn’t Caviar’s first rodeo. The company has been blinging up smartphones and devices for years. Obviously the mainstream consumers aren’t its target audience. But every now and then, it is nice to see how the 1% lives.
