If you’ve been following the Jon Prosser and Apple saga, you know things have been messy. A default judgment was entered against the YouTuber last year after he missed his deadline to respond to Apple’s lawsuit. But despite all of that, the Apple Prosser deposition is now actively being coordinated. And now the two sides appear to be in contact.
The Apple-Prosser deposition is being scheduled
According to court filings, Apple has served Prosser with subpoenas for both documents and a deposition. Prosser has acknowledged receiving them, and both sides are now working to nail down a date. Once it happens, the deposition will be used to determine the full scope of what Apple confidential information Prosser actually obtained.Â
That outcome will go a long way in deciding how much in damages the court may award. Apple is also pushing for an injunction that would bar Prosser from sharing any of Apple’s confidential or trade secret information going forward. A second case status update is currently scheduled for April 13, 2026. For context, co-defendant Michael Ramacciotti was deposed back in December and has since handed over computers and archives for forensic review.
A little bit of background
Apple filed the lawsuit back in July 2025, accusing Prosser and Ramacciotti of misappropriating trade secrets and violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. The case centers on iOS 26 and its now-famous Liquid Glass redesign, details of which Prosser published months before Apple’s official reveal.Â
According to Apple, Ramacciotti gained unauthorized access to a development iPhone belonging to his friend Ethan Lipnik. At that time, Lipnik was an Apple employee who was later fired. Ramacciotti then allegedly showed Prosser what was on the device over a FaceTime call. Apple claims Prosser proposed the scheme and promised financial compensation to Ramacciotti in return.Â
When Prosser didn’t respond to the complaint by the court deadline, a default judgment was entered against him. This means the court accepted Apple’s claims as true on the question of liability. Prosser pushed back on that narrative, saying he had been communicating with Apple from the start.
We still don’t know how all of this will end. But in the meantime, Prosser is continuing posting leaks of Apple’s upcoming devices.
