Google Home gets a new update that adds premade voice assistant actions
The new update lets users select premade voice assistant actions directly within the automation editor. Instead of manually typing commands, users can choose ready-made options such as announcing the current time or today’s weather. Other selections include playing music, news, radio, podcasts, or sleep sounds, along with simple features like a chime or even a joke. Every action is designed to work instantly once added to the routine.
The premade voice assistant actions remove repetitive setup steps that previously slowed many smart home automations. However, do note that the predefined actions are currently limited to the Google Home app and its built-in automation editor. It is not yet supported through Ask Home or the Help Me Create feature. However, despite the downside, the feature does its intended task: reducing confusion and lowering the barrier for people who want quick results.

Options such as Good Morning or Bedtime can be removed entirely if they no longer fit a user’s schedule.
