Samsung is preparing to launch its One UI 8.5 software at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The software will be unveiled alongside the much-anticipated Galaxy S26 series. The new version promises a visual refresh and meaningful performance improvements. Now, a new report reveals that the One UI 8.5 will upgrade the Galaxy device’s audio capture capabilities by introducing 24-bit audio recording over Bluetooth.
Upcoming One UI 8.5 to bring audio performance upgrade by adding 24-bit recording support
As per the information shared by the Galaxy Techie on X, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update introduces a new system utility tool called Advanced Audio. The app enables 24-bit audio recording through wireless microphones connected via Bluetooth. For reference, the audio capture in older versions was limited to 16-bit. The new upgrade is expected to benefit both standalone voice capture and video production on compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
The 24-bit audio recording tech delivers richer depth and greater dynamic range. This is a perfect choice for podcasters, vloggers, and mobile filmmakers. The Advanced Audio tool will support select microphones from DJI, including the Mic 2, Mic 3, Mini, and the upcoming Mini 2. The feature lets the user record directly without carrying a dedicated receiver during shoots.
Dual microphone input support is coming as well
Apart from the 24-bit audio recording support, the One UI 8.5 update adds dual microphone input support to the devices. The feature lets two mics capture sound simultaneously. Users can adjust gain levels and noise cancellation settings within the interface. It offers controls that were previously limited to physical dials on external hardware. Quick adjustments might also appear in the Now Bar.
The update may also integrate quick controls near the front camera through a live update pill interface. The shortcut could streamline real-time tweaks while filming or streaming. We are getting closer and closer to the official release of One UI 8.5, and are already excited enough to try it out.
