YouTube bug causes comments to disappear
According to multiple posts on Reddit, users are finding that they cannot see comments on YouTube, and that video descriptions are also gone. Some have attributed the disappear comments and descriptions to a YouTube bug, but others believe it is part of YouTube’s crusade and cracking down on ad blockers.
For some, refreshing the page will bring back the comments and descriptions. If that happens to you, you can give that a try. However, it is unclear how widespread this issue is or why some users are affected. For instance, a report from Android Police revealed that they were unable to replicate the issue. Also, it seems to affect multiple browsers, including Chrome, Brave, and Edge. This means that this issue isn’t specific to a browser.
Is this part of YouTube’s war on ad blockers?
Now, like we said, some have speculated that this issue is appearing for users with ad blockers installed. We cannot confirm if this is really the case, but it wouldn’t be surprising. In the past, we’ve seen YouTube try all sorts of ways to make the experience annoying for ad blockers.
