Apple has just announced that it is holding a special event on March 4, 2026. With events in New York, London, and Shanghai, which is a little odd for Apple. The event will take place at 9AM ET, and not PT like most of their events.
Apple’s event invite is pretty plain, like usual. With a multi-colored Apple logo that is in blue, green, and yellow colors. And just says to “Please join us in person for a special Apple Experience in New York”. It’s unclear if this is going to be for new MacBooks or possibly something else. But this event is definitely out of the ordinary for Apple.
What could Apple announce on March 4?
There are quite a few new products waiting for Apple’s announcement, and they could all be announced at this event. This includes the new iPhone 17e, though recent rumors had pointed to that being announced this Thursday, right after the Google Pixel 10a announcement. The iPhone 17e isn’t expected to get a lot of changes, but it is going to get MagSafe, which is really good to see.
What’s more likely to be announced at this event are the new MacBook Pro models with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. It’s been almost a year since the last time the MacBook Pro was updated, other than the M5 base model. So this is extremely likely, but a little weird to see an event – let alone a three-city event – for this.
But what is most likely is, the new low-cost MacBook. Especially considering the colors in this invite. Gurman says that these three colors have all been tested on the new low-cost MacBook which should be priced around $699. Now that would be worthy of a special event, especially since this is happening in Shanghai as well.
So, we could also see the new iPad Air and a 12th-generation iPad. There’s also talk about a refreshed Studio Display, Apple TV, and HomePod Mini. So there’s quite a bit that Apple could be unveiling at this event. Not mentioning the new Spring Colors that Apple typically does for the iPhone and Apple Watch bands.
The interesting thing here is that, this is right in the middle of Mobile World Congress. So this is Apple’s way of hijacking press coverage from the mobile world which will be in Barcelona at that time.
