The global variant of the HONOR Magic 7 Pro is receiving its MagicOS 10 upgrade based on Android 16. This brings new features and many improvements to refine the software experience. The MagicOS 10 rollout was limited to China until this point, but it seems to be expanding to other regions now. Since the update has just started sending out, it’s a good idea to give it a few days before it reaches every unit.
Global HONOR Magic 7 Pro gets MagicOS 10 update
The HONOR Magic 7 Pro’s MagicOS 10 upgrade carries the version number 10.0.0.121. It reportedly weighs around 3.27GB, so ensure that you have enough internal storage for the software package to download. MagicOS 10 brings a new Turbo X performance engine interface that should boost, well, day-to-day performance.
The update optimizes animation curves for launching or exiting apps, delivering a more fluid experience. When you swipe to exit or swipe on the home screen, the system can now perform parallel operations. Furthermore, the keyboard typing experience is now more responsive than ever.
Enhancements to Magic Capsule
The new OS version integrates charging and screen recording with Magic Capsule for viewing real-time status and quick access. The AI screenshot can now intelligently learn from your usage scenarios and habits to automatically recommend the service you need. MagicOS 10 also brings support for Android’s native extra dim mode, which reduces the white point value. This should come in handy when viewing the phone at night.
Control Center gets a dark background to improve visual hierarchy and colorful icons for a more vibrant interface. The Transparency mode optimizes the transparency effects of elements, like widgets and folders. Lock screen now offers more clock styles. You can customize by pinching with two fingers on the lock screen.
The media control widget features a progress bar, which allows you to easily adjust the playback. You can also swipe horizontally from anywhere in the Control Center to quickly switch to the Notification Center. The home screen now enables a dock background.
iPhone file-sharing, call translation, and camera app revamp
MagicOS 10 also brings the call translation feature. You can find it in Settings > Honor AI > Call Translation. The update brings support for the Bluetooth LHDC 5.0 high-definition audio codec. The camera app also gets a revamp to make it more convenient to use. You can also customize the functions displayed in the Camera’s status bar. Furthermore, the update allows you to quickly browse videos and easily locate specific frames in Gallery.
HONOR Connect enables file-sharing with iPhones. Users will be able to share files and media with iPhones without needing any cables or third-party apps. All you have to do is simply tap your device against an iPhone to transfer files. Be sure the HONOR Connect app on the iOS device is running v1.1.18111 or later.
With MagicOS 10, users can transfer images, videos, and files from HONOR devices to macOS or Windows by installing HONOR Workstation on the computer. There’s OneTap, which enables seamless file transfer between HONOR devices.
