Ahead of MWC next month, TECNO has officially announced the POVA Curve 2 5G, which is a pretty thin device at 7.42mm with a massive battery. Just how massive? It’s the largest battery TECNO has ever put into one of its phones. The POVA Curve 2 5G gets an 8,000mAh capacity battery, which should provide multi-day battery life.
Measuring in at just 7.42mm means that it is also pretty lightweight. The POVA Curve 2 5G is weighing in at just 195g. That’s pretty light for a phone with such a massive battery.
TECNO has not yet disclosed the size of the display, but we do know this is a 144Hz AMOLED display. And it’s being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor. TECNO has also included 45W charging here, making it really impressive for what will likely be an incredibly cheap device. Though even at 45W, it’s going to charge pretty slowly since it is an 8000mAh battery here.
The POVA Curve 2 5G will get at least two major Android OS upgrades, as TECNO says this device continues its “commitment to delivering smartphones built for longevity.” It will also be designed to remain a reliable companion well into the future. And make it pretty competitive with other Budget Android Phones on the market.
Along with that longevity, TECNO has made this a fairly durable device, with IP64 dust and water resistance, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display to protect it from drops and scratches. It also has SGS certification for 1.5-meter drop protection.

Launching in India later this month
TECNO isn’t being very forthcoming with launch details, but we do know that this device will be on sale in India later this month. No word on pricing just yet, but given previous POVA devices, it’ll likely be very affordable.
The device will be part of the TECNO at MWC showcase next month in Barcelona.
