The last eligible OnePlus device is now getting Android 16
It’s now time for the OnePlus Pad Lite, as the rollout started in India. It will quickly spread to other markets, as it did with previous updates. Your tablet will let you know once the update is available. You can also try to force the update via Settings -> System & Updates -> Software update.
Prior to this tablet, a bunch of other devices received the update. That goes for the OnePlus Open, OnePlus 13, 13R, and 13S. The OnePlus 12, 12R, 11, and 11R received it too, as did the OnePlus 10 Pro.
The OnePlus Pad 3, Pad 2, and Pad also received the update, and the same goes for 6 OnePlus Nord devices, ranging from the OnePlus Nord CE 4, all the way to the OnePlus Nord 5.
Android 16 that OnePlus is pushing out brings a lot of changes via OxygenOS 16. It improves animations on all devices, and it also delivers new AI features, not to mention improvements for the existing ones.
OnePlus also added a number of new features to the mix, to improve the usability of its devices. There are also a bunch of underlying improvements provided by Google via Android 16, of course.
OnePlus can now start preparing for Android 17
Now that the last eligible OnePlus devices received Android 16, we can turn out attention towards Android 17. Google announced the first Android 17 Beta build yesterday, and OnePlus is certainly preparing for the Android 17-based OxygenOS 17 update that will start rolling out later this year.
