POCO is apparently coming out swinging with its upcoming F9 series of smartphones. According to leaker Digital Chat Station, who has been pretty accurate recently, has hinted that the Xiaomi 18 series will come with 200MP cameras. It is being said that this will come to the Redmi K100 series, which will be rebranded to the POCO F9 series in global markets.
The Xiaomi 18, which is likely to be announced around September after Qualcomm announces its newest Snapdragon 8 series chipset, is said to have quite a few updates. Including 200MP cameras. And that will also come to the Redmi K100, which is a very popular brand in India for Xiaomi.
Apparently, Xiaomi wants the Redmi K100 series to have a better position among the other high-end devices on the market. And it is expected to launch the K100, K100 Pro, and K100 Pro Max.
The one we are specifically talking about here is the Redmi K100 Pro Max, which will feature a 200MP camera, though at this point, we are not sure if that is the primary or the periscope telephoto camera.
Xiaomi rebranded the Redmi K90 Pro Max as the POCO F9 Ultra last year
There is some precedence for Xiaomi rebranding Redmi phones as POCO phones, too. Just last year, the POCO F8 Ultra was a rebranded Redmi K90 Pro Max. Which included Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, as well as some pretty beefy cameras. It also included a literal subwoofer in the back of the phone, tuned by Bose.
These devices are all likely going to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, as the recent leaks have pointed to. Which means we still have a few months before they launch. After all, the Xiaomi 17 series has not launched outside of China. Despite being the first Android phones to launch with Qualcomm’s new chip in September 2025.
