ASUS has announced the official launch of the ROG Kithara headset in the US, marking its availability for consumers looking to get that audiophile-grade sound for much less than a typical audiophile headset. When ASUS unveiled the ROG Kithara headset back during CES 2026, the major detail was that ASUS ROG had partnered with HIFIMAN to make the headset. Tacking a name like HIFIMAN onto your product is no small accomplishment, given HIFIMAN’s brand presence in the world of audiophile headphones.
That, paired with ASUS ROG’s brand presence and expertise in gaming, meant that gamers were likely in for a real treat when it comes to the sounds coming out of their games. All at a price point that seems fairly reasonable, especially when comparing it to other high-end gaming headsets.
The ASUS ROG Kithara launch begins today with a retail price of $299.99
Gaming headsets come in a wide range of prices, with some reaching past $400-$500. The ASUS ROG Kithara sits kind of right in the middle of those more expensive options and the more mid-range and entry-level choices you would have as a gamer shopping for a gaming headset.
At $299.99, the ROG Kithara isn’t cheap, but it’s certainly nowhere near the most expensive gaming headset on the market. The Kithara also doesn’t have much in the way of true competition. That is, a gaming headset with audiophile-grade sound and features. The only other well-known competitor is the Audeze Maxwell 2. And for what you’re spending, ASUS is confident you’ll be pleased with the results. Large, 100mm planar magnetic drivers are the soul of what makes this gaming headset a special offering.
These were specifically tuned for gaming, delivering a frequency range of 8 Hz to 55 kHz response. This kind of audio represents itself in complete immersion in ways you might not have experienced before. Ambient background sounds of the world you’re playing in come alive. In shooter games, footsteps and gunfire, even magazine reloads, are amplified and clearer.
The ROG Kithara also comes with an on-cable full-band MEMS boom microphone, which uses a different signal path from the audio to eliminate any possibility of crosstalk. In other words, your voice comes through clear and isn’t distorted or interrupted by the game audio. The ASUS ROG Kithara gaming headset is available in the US for $299.99 from Amazon.
