
After the Galaxy Watch 5 series, Samsung has started rolling out the January 2026 Android security update to the Galaxy Watch 6 as well. It is rolling out the new firmware in a limited region for now. Alongside the smartwatch, the company has also released the January 2026 update to the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S10 tablets.
Galaxy Watch 6’s January 2026 update fixes a handful of bugs
Right now, Samsung has rolled out the January 2026 security patch for the Galaxy Watch 6 in South Korea. The update is currently available only for the cellular variant of the device, bearing model number SM-R935N. As per some users on the Samsung Community website, the size of the update is 157.25MB, and it has the firmware number R935NKOS1CZA1.
The Galaxy Watch 6’s latest update brings fixes for 55 security issues present in the earlier version of the OS. Samsung is rolling out the new upgrade over the air in a phased manner. However, you can do a manual check in the Galaxy Wearable app on your compatible phone.
To do this, go to Watch Settings > Watch software update > Download and install. The update should reach the non-cellular variant and other parts of the world in the coming days.
Samsung is rolling out the same firmware to all Galaxy Tab S8 & S10 variants
Samsung recently released the January 2026 security patch to the Galaxy Tab S9 series and the Galaxy Tab S10 FE lineup globally. It has now rolled out the same update to the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets. It fixes 55 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software.
The size of the January patch is around 350MB, and it’s currently only available in the company’s home country. Samsung has released the update to both the cellular and non-cellular variants of these devices. We can expect the brand to release the same update worldwide soon. So, stay tuned for regular updates.
