Today’s the day. The day that the Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale in the US, it’s already out of stock. The Galaxy Z TriFold Release date was today at 10AM ET, and by 10:20AM ET, it was completely out of stock.
It’s unclear if or when Samsung will restock the TriFold. We did know that it would be a very limited run, rumored to only be manufacturing 300,000 units worldwide and about 3K units per country. So this isn’t that surprising.
So if you were hoping to get your hands on a Galaxy Z TriFold, you’ll need to head to a Samsung Experience Store where they might have stock (definitely call ahead, since there are only 7 in the entire country), or wait for a restock. Which might or might not happen.
The Galaxy Z TriFold specs are pretty decent as well. We’re looking at a 6.5-inch cover display, which then unfolds into a 10″ tablet. This is a more normal aspect ratio tablet here, so your 16:9 content will look great on this tablet.
It’s also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. Unsurprisingly, Samsung did not go for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip here. This shows you just how long Samsung has been working on this device.
So why would you want the Galaxy Z TriFold? Well, productivity is a big reason for it. I checked it out at CES earlier this month, and immediately fell in love with it. It’s a great device that would be really great for traveling, especially to a new city like Las Vegas. Well, Vegas isn’t really new to me, but it is a place I only travel to once a year. It’s also great for watching content on a flight where you don’t really have room to pull out your laptop.
