Commercial real estate leaders at the Real Estate Board of New York’s 130th REBNY Annual had plenty to say when Connect CRE asked them what the city’s new mayor should focus on primarily. Working together with the industry and coming up with long-term solutions to the question of affordability were key themes.
For example, Bruce Mosler, chairman of global brokerage Cushman & Wakefield, called for public-private partnerships to build more affordable housing and therefore retain the city’s workforce. “We have a 1% vacancy in the housing arena; that’s not going to suffice for the long run,” said Mosler.
In the video below, you will also hear insights from Camille McGratty, head of real estate, Hospital for Special Surgery and 2026 REBNY honoree; David Falk, president, Tri-State Region, Newmark; Gary Malin, COO, Corcoran Group; Jeff Gural, chairman, GFP Real Estate and 2026 REBNY honoree; Leslie Himmel, founder and managing partner, Himmel + Meringoff Properties; Christine Quinn, president and CEO, Women in Need; and James Nelson, head of U.S. Investment Sales, Avison Young.
