2026 will be the year Samsung users stop simply watching from the sidelines as other manufacturers offer ecosystems of magnetic accessories. Everything points to the S26 series having native Qi2 support as one of its main selling points. Furthermore, the latest report practically confirms support for a more powerful wireless charging technology. This time, a leak has revealed the upcoming official wireless magnetic charger designed for the Galaxy S26 lineup and other Qi2-supported Samsung devices that will arrive in the future.
The fresh report comes from SamMobile. They shared a set of images of the retail packaging for the “Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger” (model EP-P2900), mentioning not only Qi2 support but also a 25W charging speed. The new charger features a familiar circular puck design with a durable nylon-braided USB-C cable. It’s designed to snap onto the back of the phone using internal magnets.
Galaxy S26 Ultra to hit 25W wireless charging via new magnetic puck
The standout feature of this new accessory is its 25W power output. Historically, Samsung’s wireless charging capped out at 15W even on its “Ultra” flagship models. However, it is already safe to say that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will take full advantage of this new 25W wireless charger. The standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models likely won’t be far behind. More specifically, rumors suggest that these models will support up to 20W.
If you own an older device, like a Galaxy S25 or a Z Fold 7, the charger will still work. However, you shouldn’t expect a speed boost. These “Qi2-ready” devices from last year will likely stay limited to the traditional 15W limit. To get the best results, Samsung recommends pairing the new magnetic puck with a 45W wall adapter. This will ensure there is enough overhead to maintain peak wireless speeds.
Magnetic ecosystem on the way
The jump to Qi2 means more than just a faster top-up. The magnetic alignment solves one of the most frustrating aspects of wireless charging: placing your phone slightly off-center and waking up to a dead battery. By using magnets to perfectly align the charging coils every time, Samsung improves efficiency and reduces the heat generated during the process.
The Qi2 improvements within the Galaxy S26 series go beyond just wireless charging. The inclusion of magnets opens the door for a whole new world of cases, wallets, and car mounts that can snap on and off effortlessly. It seems Samsung is no longer just “ready” for the Qi2 era but heavily betting on it. It is time to say goodbye to the previously mandatory dedicated cases with integrated magnets.
