Getting access to Google’s best AI models just became way more affordable. The company announced that Google AI Plus is now available in 35 new countries and territories, including the United States. At $7.99 per month, it’s less than half the price of the existing AI Pro plan. You also get access to some advanced AI tools.
Google AI Plus now available in more regions
Prior to this, Google’s AI Pro was the cheapest option at $19.99 a month if you wanted upgraded Gemini features. That’s more or less on par with other AI subscriptions like ChatGPT or Claude. However, even then, that’s a pretty steep ask for most people just wanting better AI assistance.Â
With Google AI Plus being available in more regions, users will now have access to more advanced models like Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro in the Gemini app. Users also get access to other AI filmmaking tools in Flow and research via NotebookLM. To top it off, if you’re heavily invested in Google’s ecosystem, you also get 200GB of cloud storage. Plus, you can share everything with up to five family members.
To sweeten the deal, Google’s running a limited promotion where new subscribers get 50% off for the first two months. This drops the price to a mere $3.99, about the price of a cup of coffee. If you were on the fence before, $3.99 is honestly a no-brainer, cheap way to try out the features before committing.
What do you actually get with AI Plus?
For those unfamiliar, Google initially rolled out its AI Plus plan back in 2025. The goal was to make Google’s more advanced AI models more accessible to other parts of the world. But is there a difference? What will you get for $7.99 versus $19.99 a month? For now, AI Plus sits between the free tier and the more premium options.
It should give users enough AI horsepower for most everyday tasks without forcing you into the $250-per-month Ultra plan. The Gemini 3 Pro model handles complex questions with better reasoning than previous models, while Nano Banana Pro gives you higher limits for image generation and editing. Flow’s AI filmmaking tools and NotebookLM’s research features round things out.Â
For users who hate the limitations of the free model, but find the Pro plan a bit too expensive, then the Plus plan should be a happy middle ground.
