- Fourth-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata has turned 10 years old.
- 2026 updates are limited, but include a lightly revised interior.
- Pricing climbs by $600 to start at $30,430 before destination.
The convertible and roadster segment has largely collapsed as we’ve seen the elimination of countless models including the Camaro, Cascada, Eos, and SLK. The BMW Z4 is also on the way out as is the 8-Series.

That’s quite a death toll, but the Mazda MX-5 Miata survives, and the fourth-generation roadster is celebrating a decade in America. It launched for the 2016 model year and is now benefiting from “targeted updates focused [on] interior refinement” for 2026.

The differences are incredibly minor, but the MX-5 Miata Club with the Brembo BBS Recaro Package gains black Alcantara interior trim with light gray contrast stitching. The model also sports a piano black bezel as well as black accents on the climate control dial and engine starter ring.

That appears to be the extent of the updates, but pricing has climbed from $29,830 to $30,430. This is an increase of $600, but at least the destination fee remains unchanged at $1,235.
The $600 price hike appears to be across the lineup, which has been slimmed down for 2026. However, this is hardly surprising as the 35th Anniversary Edition is going away.
While there isn’t much new, we’ll remind you the MX-5 Miata has LED headlights, a dual exhaust system, and a soft top with a glass rear window. The entry-level model also sports 16-inch alloy wheels with a metallic black finish.
Inside, drivers will find cloth seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. They’re joined by a six-speaker audio system and an 8.8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.

Higher-end variants offer a hard top, a sportier suspension, and larger 17-inch wheels. Customers can also get heated leather seats, a limited-slip differential, and a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system.
Regardless of which trim is selected, all cars are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 181 hp (135 kW / 184 PS) and 151 lb-ft (205 Nm) of torque. Sport and Club variants are offered exclusively with a six-speed manual, while the Grand Touring offers a six-speed automatic.
