The wait is finally over, Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale this Friday.
After a few rumors hit Reddit yesterday and over the weekend, stating that January 30 is the official release date for the Galaxy Z TriFold, it appears that Samsung has now made it official.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will go on sale nationwide on January 30, with a price of $2,899 for the 512GB model in Crafted Black. It does not sound like the 1TB of storage model will be made available here in the US. But this starting price is indeed lower than many anticipated, but not by much.
Samsung is keeping the Galaxy Z TriFold pretty exclusive, too, only at Samsung Experience Stores (there are only seven in the US) and at Samsung.com.

Galaxy Z TriFold is just 3.9mm thick and includes a full 10-inch tablet display
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold back in December in Korea. And it has slowly made its way to other markets, including China and the UAE. Now, it’s finally coming to the US, after its debut at CES earlier this month.
This is a foldable device that expands from a 6.5-inch display to a 10-inch display, which makes it more tablet-like than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. I had a chance to use it at CES in Las Vegas for a short amount of time, and this is definitely the foldable I’d want. Instead of that 8-inch square display that most other foldables have, which is really only good for multitasking, this 10-inch display is going to be great for watching content as well.
Each panel of the Galaxy Z TriFold is a different thickness, partly due to the two different hinges here. But the thinnest panel is just 3.9mm. That’s even thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It also has the largest battery in any Galaxy smartphone – 5,600mAh. They are able to put in this large of a battery to ship in the US since it’s three batteries and not one.
Samsung also claims that the hinges are both very durable and have been design-tested for 200,000 folds. Check out the full Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold spec list.
