It’s hard to argue with the fact that BMW brought one of the first modern compact executive sedans to the forefront of the mass-market with its introduction of the 3 Series. Debuting in 1975, the BMW 3 Series has grown to be one of the best-selling models in the premium compact segment, rivaled only by the likes of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but the BMW Group remained the top-selling premium automaker in the world in 2024.
