The January 2026 security patch is rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7
This update started rolling out in Korea, the company’s homeland, but it will spread to other markets quickly. When it comes to Samsung’s updates, it usually happens in a matter of days, so stay tuned.
Even when it arrives in your region, however, it will roll out in stages, so you may need to be patient. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is getting the firmware version F966NKSS7AYLT, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is getting the firmware version F766NKSS7AYLT.
This update brings 55 security fixes to the table. 23 of those come from Google, even though 2 don’t apply to Samsung devices. 4 come from Samsung Semiconductor, while 30 have been supplied by Samsung Mobile.
28 of these patches are marked as ‘high-risk’
Samsung has marked one patch as critical, 28 of them as high-risk, and 3 as moderate-risk ones. Those are all the details that we have in terms of security patches.
Your phone will let you know once the update is available. Yes, you can try to speed up the process by checking manually, though. Go to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install in order to do that.
A lot more Samsung smartphones are going to get this update in the coming days and weeks. We’re expecting the Galaxy S25 series to be the next on the list, even though the company’s mid-rangers received it first.
The Galaxy S24 series will likely get it very soon too, and the same goes for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Either way, stay tuned, this update will spread to a ton of Samsung phones soon.
