The Ford Taurus was a groundbreaking model upon its debut in 1986. Back then, the United States was still firmly in its malaise era, in both car design and performance. The then-futuristic Taurus offered a breath of fresh air for the entire nation, and signaled an end to boxy designs and hefty lashing of chrome covering virtually every American-made sedan. We can thank the Taurus, in part, for its work in driving American automotive design forward.
