When Volkswagen Group revived the Scout brand, it announced that it would be selling its Terra trucks and Traveler SUVs through direct sales and brand-owned showrooms, rather than selling to franchised dealers. This has upset car dealers in a number of states, even more so than when companies such as Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid have done it, since Scout is technically a part of the greater Volkswagen Group, which already works with franchised dealers. Dealers in some states are fighting back and trying to keep Scout from being able to sell in their respective states. Fortunately for Scout, the dealers just lost one of their fights.
