Mazda now offers standard mild-hybrid power in their top-line SUVs, Honda is selling cars and SUVs with the fourth-generation of their hybrid drive system, and the latest generation of pickup trucks from Toyota both count hybrid engines as their up-level powerplant offerings. Though the latest Tacoma and Tundra are far from the first hybrid pickups on the road, their latest hybrid truck powertrains aim to give shoppers more power while using less fuel and adding confidence from wildly fluctuating fuel prices.
