A well-known tipster has just revealed plenty of details about Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone. The information comes from Evan Blass, as he confirmed the phone’s name, main camera, battery capacity, and more.
The name of Samsung’s first tri-fold phone will be the Galaxy Z TriFold
The name of Samsung’s first tri-fold phone will be the Galaxy Z TriFold. This is the first time we’re hearing this piece of information. As previously reported, the cover display (the one on the back) will measure 6.5 inches, while the main display will measure 10 inches when fully unfolded.
Yes, the Galaxy Z TriFold will have two displays. The main one will be foldable, while the cover display will not. This is a completely different approach than what Huawei did with the Mate XT and Mate XTs.
A 200-megapixel main camera will be used, along with a 5,600mAh battery
Furthermore, the phone will feature a 200-megapixel main camera. Blass did not mention the details, but it could be the same unit as on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The rated battery capacity will be 5,437mAh, though based on reports, it will be marketed as a 5,600mAh battery.
He also mentioned the peak brightness of the two displays, it’s 2,600 and 1,600 nits, respectively. We’re guessing that the first score is for the cover display, and the second for the main panel.
The tipster also shared the thickness information by mentioning three different values. He said that the “thickness of the leaves varies: 3.9/4.0/4.2mm.”
One of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips will fuel it, likely the flagship one
The very last piece of information he shared is that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon processor. We still don’t know what chip, but if we had to guess, we’d say the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It remains to be seen.
That is basically everything that Evan Blass shared. The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to finally arrive on December 5. That is the latest release date that was mentioned, and it could be right, as Samsung did mention that it will arrive before the end of 2025.
