OnePlus is looking to revive a very popular smartphone color from 2018, kind of. Some of you may remember the ‘Thunder Purple’ color that the OnePlus 6T offered, well, it’s making a comeback, in a way.
OnePlus could revive an immensely popular color it used back in the day
Based on the information provided by Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster, the OnePlus Ace 6T will ship in an ‘electric purple’ color, which will look a lot like the ‘Thunder Purple’ colorway.
The OnePlus Ace 6T was rumored to arrive as the OnePlus Ace 6 Pro Max, but it seems like OnePlus will go with the former name, and it makes more sense, that’s for sure. That smartphone will launch in China. It remains to be seen if OnePlus will re-release it globally under a different name or something like that.
That smartphone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 series processor. If we had to guess, we’d say it’ll be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. A 165Hz display will be used as well, as well as an ‘ultra-fast’ fingerprint scanner.
That’s basically everything we know about this smartphone. It won’t be quite the flagship phone, but it’ll be up there, trailing behind the OnePlus 15. It will also be more affordable, of course.
The ‘Thunder Purple’ OnePlus 6T is still fondly remembered, 7 years later
The ‘Thunder Purple’ colorway, back in 2018, was immensely popular. I personally still remember it, and remember the reactions users had to it. It was basically what market the OnePlus 6T as a smartphone, in a way.
Really nice-looking colors are always nice to see, and they’re now rarer than they have ever been. Companies tend to play it safe with smartphone colors, especially when it comes to flagship phones.
It would really be nice to see more options out there, options like the ‘Thunder Purple’ colorway, that’s for sure. The black color almost always sells best, followed by white, and some other options that companies are using. There’s a reason they opt for those colors.
