Toyota sold more than 600,000 examples of its Hilux around the globe in 2024, so when the automaker unveils a new generation of the midsize pickup truck, and global equivalent to the USDM Tacoma, it’s a big deal. The latest – representing the ninth generation for the nameplate – was unveiled overnight in Thailand, where much of the development took place. Thailand is also one of six countries where Hilux production is handled, both for local sale and export.
