OPPO has begun rolling out its Android 16-based ColorOS 16 update to the OPPO Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and Find N5. In other words, both of the company’s flagship slab phones and its flagship foldable are now getting the update.
The OPPO Find X8 series & Find N5 are all now receiving Android 16-based ColorOS 16
We are talking about the global units of the three smartphones, by the way. The rollout actually started a couple of days ago, but it’s coming in batches, and not rolling out to all regions at the same time. So chances are you’ll have to wait a bit before you get it.
ColorOS 16 does bring quite a few changes to the table. It is updating the animations throughout the UI. They will be more intentional now, and should make the whole experience feel smoother.
Trinity Engine’s goal is to keep your phone running smoothly no matter what, basically. System apps should launch quicker now, scrolling should be smoother, and the same goes for the touch response.
New motion wallpapers are now a possibility thanks to the AI-boosted depth effect that ColorOS 16 brings. Always-On Display has been updated as well, it now offers more functionality while it looks better at the same time.
This update does include plenty of AI-based updates
OPPO did put a lot of focus on AI as well. AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser, Master Cut, AI Mind Space, and many other features have either been updated or added to the fold, it all depends on what feature we’re talking about.
ColorOS 16 also integrates Google’s Gemini Live. It enables real-time contextual interactions with ease. OPPO has also improved the privacy aspect in ColorOS 16, and much more than that.
Needless to say, this is a fairly big update for OPPO. It is a brand new major version fo Android after all, to which OPPO decided to add a ton of its own touches to make the experience even better.
