The Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch timeline rumors are all over the place, to say the least. Initially, we expected the phones to arrive in January, then rumors started mentioning March, and then a February 25 launch date was mentioned. Well, the latest rumor claims that we’re back to January, actually.
The Galaxy S26 series is now expected to launch in January after all
According to a report from Korea, Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S26 series by late January and make the phones available by mid-February. So, they’d go on sale around 2 weeks after launch.
Chosun, the source, quotes an insider for this information. It is said that Samsung initially delayed the launch of the Galaxy S26 series due to a brief reorganization of the available models in the lineup.
That is no concern anymore, though, allegedly, so the company can proceed with the January launch. If the report is accurate, this January launch event will come around the same time as the Galaxy S25’s launch this year. As a reminder, the Galaxy S25 series arrived on January 22.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t use the Exynos 2600 at all
Chosun also says that the Exynos 2600 chip won’t be used in all three variants of the Galaxy S26 series. The source claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will not use that chip at all. It will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, on the other hand, will use the Exynos 2600. They won’t use that chip exclusively, though, as the availability will be market-dependent. This goes hand-in-hand with Qualcomm’s claim that around 75% of the Galaxy S26 series will use its flagship processor.
As a reminder, the Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra were supposed to launch initially. Samsung changed its mind since then, hence the reorganization we mentioned earlier. The company is now planning to launch the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
