Muscle cars. The term itself is synonymous with the classical American attitude of “the bigger, the better.” Back during the golden age of American muscle which, by most accounts, ended in the beginning of the 1970s, the most popular method of getting more power out of an engine was to make it bigger. Straight-line speed was king, and a model’s performance around a racing circuit was seldom commented on. People simply weren’t that interested.
