Every year, automakers like to show tuning enthusiasts that they can hang with the cool kids at SEMA by modifying one or more of their regular vehicles. The trouble is, these concepts are almost always just that – one-off ideas that will never make their way to the street. But for SEMA 2025, Ford is doing something different with the reveal of the Maverick 300T, a turbocharged pickup with Mustang power that everyday enthusiasts will soon be able to experience. The 300T takes the stock 2.0-liter four-cylinder of the Maverick and gives it the turbocharger from a 2.3-liter Mustang EcoBoost, which has a 6-millimeter larger compressor wheel than standard, resulting in a gain of 50 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque. What’s more, Ford intends to make “a version” of this 300 hp/317 lb-ft kit available to the public next year.
More Than Just A Bigger Turbo For The Maverick 300T
The Ford Performance upgrade is designed to be CARB-certified and 50-state legal, and to ensure it’s reliable, too, a Mishimoto intercooler that’s nearly 59% larger than stock has been added, reducing temperatures by 39.6% and pressure by just over 20%. A Borla exhaust adds a more aggressive tone, while ProCal 4 tuning keeps everything running smoothly. To help put the power down, Ford again raided its own parts catalog with a set of 20-inch wheels from the Mustang Mach-E GT, secured with black chrome lug nuts and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. The customer kit will use Pirelli P Zero Elect tires, though.
Bringing the wheels closer to the body is a set of lowering springs that drop the ride height by 10 mm in front and 30 mm at the back, and upgraded rear dampers and a stiffer stabilizer bar mean the Maverick should take corners better than ever before. Compression and rebound damping rates have also been increased for more control. To ensure that the 300T stands out a little more(we can’t have the stock-output Maverick Lobo looking sexier, can we?), Ford also visited the vinyl shop.
Fresh Graphics For The Fast Truck
Unique 300T vinyls in black or bronze have been added, along with Ford Performance badges for the fenders, front grille, and floor mats. The tailgate’s MAVERICK script has been reworked in bronze, too, for additional character. Details on pricing will surely follow in the new year, but for now, Ford says the kit is designed for all-wheel-drive versions of the Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat (with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, of course). The Blue Oval adds that the 4K tow package is recommended for its extra cooling capacity, but the kit can be fitted without it if you like living on the wild side. The automaker also says that more is coming from the Ford Custom Garage, so stay tuned.
