- Mini and designer Paul Smith have teamed up on a new special edition.
- It features green accents, roof stripes, and black 18-inch alloy wheels.
- The cabin adds blue sport seats, door sills, and knitted dashboard trim.
Domestic automakers dominated the Japan Mobility Show, but Mini used the event to unveil the new Cooper Paul Smith Edition. It follows previous collaborations and will be offered in three different body styles.
Starting outside, there are two exclusive paint colors known as Statement Grey and Inspired White. The former draws inspiration from a hue offered on the 1959 Mini Austin Seven, while the latter is a “contemporary homage” to the old school Beige.
Customers can also get traditional Midnight Black Metallic, if they’re not feeling very adventurous.

Color plays a big role in this special edition, which features Nottingham Green accents on the mirrors, grille surround, and wheels. It can also be selected as an option for a contrasting roof.
Elsewhere, there’s a Signature Stripe on the roof of the 3- and 5-door variants. Buyers will also find Paul Smith’s signature on the rear end as well as 18-inch aluminum wheels with a black finish. They’re joined by special Mini logos in Black Blue, which are designed to complement the design of the colorful model.
Drivers will notice the interior updates before stepping inside as they’ll be greeted by puddle lamps that project “Hello” onto the ground. They’re accompanied by special door sill plates saying “Every day is a new beginning.”
Once inside, you’ll find Nightshade Blue sports seats that combine Vescin pleather with a two-tone textile upper section. The cabin also sports special knitting on the dashboard and door panels as well as a Signature Stripe on the steering wheel.
Rounding out the highlights are Paul Smith badging and a stylized rabbit on the floor mats.
Mini didn’t mention launch details or pricing, but it sounds like the special edition will be offered globally. It also appears to be available with all electric and ICE powertrains, aside from JCW versions.
