Chances are you’ve never heard of the Matra Laser by Michelotti. That’s because it was a one-off concept from a French manufacturer that never gained much recognition outside Europe, though Matra was briefly connected with both Chrysler and Ford. The company also ran a successful Formula 1 team in the late 1960s and early ’70s, relying on Ford engines and winning both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships in 1969, thanks to the efforts of Jackie Stewart.
